Setúbal; Arrábida; Sesimbra Castle: Cabo Espichel

 Lisbon South Side  Bay is home of many attractions, ranging from natural, like “Serra da Arrábida” or Historic like “Sesimbra Castle”

 The Detour starts on Cristo Rei, with all the symbolism it has and the most stunning view to Lisbon.

Setúbal follows, district capital of Lisbon South Side Bay, it´s  the best spot to gaze Portuguese real daily life's. Eat the freshest grilled fish, finger point chosen at a local restaurant.Water-mouthing  tastes guaranteed.

 

 Serra da Arrabida is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, with endogenous plant species, plus a one of a kind landscape.  Throughout it´s mountains, it´s peaks and valleys, nature presents it self in a beautiful profound way.

 Espichel Cape – Dinassour fossil trackways can be gazed near the cape. Magical views through Atlantic ocean makes this place a very emotional one. It´s also place of a catholic sanctuary, definitely a “must go”!

 

 Sesimbra castle

 This Moorish castle stands above the cosy fishing village and it has a truly breathtaking view over The castle was conquered by the Portuguese in the 12th century, it had a crucial role defending the kingdom´s birth. For visitors the who make the 230m climb up to the castle will be rewarded of stunning panoramic views over Sesimbra and the surrounding coastline. Inside the castle there are extensive battlements
