 Sintra is a village awarded with UNESCO World Heritage Official Cultural Landscape Site.  Home of numerous palaces (most of them worth a visit inside) and in the 19th Century became the first centre of European Romantic architecture.

 

 A magical area, worshipped since the beginning of human race with a fascinating history. Located on the mountains top, Sintra is a complete tourism destination, with natural and “all ages” historic attractions”

 

 The Detour starts in Sintra, passing trough “Cabo da Roca”, the most western point of European continent. The cape´s Ocean View is 140 meters high, so it provides you with a stunning infinite ocean view.

 

 You will also be detoured by Cascais. A mystical small fisherman village that grew over modern age, specially during WWII. Blessed with even more sunshine hours than Lisbon, it was chosen by the king has it´s summer beach residence. Cascais and Estoril area benefited with WWII and from Portuguese war neutrality and all this is explain while detouring the area.
